I’m a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and teacher. My entire adult life has been about providing for others what they are lacking. I have focused on care and education up to now. As a math teacher at Martinsville High School, I have worked with our community at-length and know how to be represent our district.

As I move forward, I want to provide care, education, stronger communication between representatives and constituents, and advocacy for the individual needs of the citizens of District 60 and the state of Indiana. I am a candidate who firmly believes there is a place at the table for every single person in the state. I am committed to representing those who cannot be at the table themselves for any reason.

Education

I’m a math teacher at Martinsville High School, so I know how important it is to prioritize teacher education. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for the following:

  • Increase teacher salary
  • Increase resources for kids
  • Smaller classroom sizes
  • End standardized testing

COVID-19

Indiana has been hit hard by COVID-19 and need leadership in the Statehouse to stand up for the middle class. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for the following:

  • Grants for small businesses
  • Trustee-based bill support
  • Digital infrastructure spending

Health Care

Hoosiers deserve accessible, affordable, and comprehensive healthcare. As your State Representative, I’d prioritize the following goals:

  • Un-link health care & employment
  • Access for rural communities
  • Decrease maternal and infant mortality rate
  • Access to mental health services
  • Preventative care for opioid misuse
  • Protecting reproductive rights

Government Reform

Without a strong and cooperative general assembly, we cannot pass comprehensive legislation that helps Hoosiers. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for:

  • Improved involvement from younger generations
  • Election access
  • Fair redistricting without gerrymandering
  • Across-the-aisle bipartisanship

Equal Rights

Last year, the State Legislature passed a Hate Crimes Bill but it wasn’t enough. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for the following:

  • Add LGBTQ+ and ability protections in the Hate Crimes bill
  • Increase Hate Crimes punishment
  • Address police brutality
  • Allow transpeople to have IDs reflect their gender, not biological sex

Families

I’m a mother, so I understand how important it is to protect and advocate for families across Indiana. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for:

  • Funding for youth services
  • Relationship support

Common-sense Gun Reform

Gun violence is a real issue in Indiana, and our legislators can do more for our hard-hit communities. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for:

  • Universal background checks
  • Harsher penalties for illegal sales

Environment

Our district, including Morgan County, is home to multiple EPA super polluters. Our children deserve clean air and water without fear of falling ill. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for the following:

  • Hold corporations accountable
  • Increase and enforce regulations
  • Fund clean up efforts

Economy

Since COVID-19 hit, our economy has experienced a significant downturn. As your State Representative, I’d advocate for the following:

  • Increase minimum wage
  • Build access to trade school
  • Support local farmers
